Sara Egan
Sara Egan is Educator in Charge, Teaching and Learning, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in

discussions about works of art to affirm all voices. In her prior role as the Associate
Curator of Education at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, Sara managed Thinking Through
Art, a graduate-level program for Boston Public School teachers who learn to integrate the
arts and student-centered teaching into their practice, as well as the Teens Behind the
Scenes program that develops the personal and professional skills of Boston youth.
Sara frequently presents her work at regional and national conferences, and is a cofounder
and editor of Viewfinder, the NAEA Museum Education Division’s online publication. Sara holds
a BA from Vassar College and an Ed.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and is
